Thanks to the California doctors and political leaders (go Hillary Clinton !) for speaking out against the greedy health insurance companies (Blue Cross in this case) who are trying to scrounge every reason possible to deny Americans the right to health coverage. It is heartening to know that American doctors are, at last, willing to raise a stink. After Gi and Di and I finally saw Sicko last weekend, we were pretty sickened by the the picture of the profit driven health industry that is plaguing this great country. Even if Michael Moore's movie is not exactly "fair and balanced," we all know that the core point of the movie is undeniable. Profit driven health care makes a joke out of doctors' oath to heal people and turns medicine into a ruthless business. Read more in the Wall Street Journal Health Blog.

After seeing the movie, I was left thinking "why aren't doctors advocating for us?!" I guess sometimes they do.
