Post dissertation defense: I feel lucky


David, me and Crispin right after my diss defense at the UW. Both have been incredibly supportive mentors and real friends. I am fortunate to have had the chance to learn from them.

David came all the way from SF to sit on my defense and we got to go on one of our walks ending up at lake Washington under the sun.

Later, a party at my house. Beck made a delicious dish. It was luck that made us next door dorm room neighbors 21 years ago, freshman year at the UofM in Ann Arbor, MI.

The real test: friends listen to my diss presentation. I am lucky to have friends who are interested.

The next day Beck and Fran came over for tea and cake. Beck had sent me these flowers to the room where I was defending the diss!
