Some Terms from the Situationists
Hypergraphy - layers of information revealed through the density of images. It can be manifested, for example, though the juxtaposition of iconic, often quotidian imagery such as architecture, views from the window, scapes, signage, graffiti, art, etc.
Unitary urbanism - a rejection of functional (Euclidean) approach to urban design and a reaction to compartmentalization of art.
Psychogeography - pioneered by the Lettrists in the '50s. This is an approach to the city based on emotion not logical structure. See examples here.
Dérive - as a meandering walk through the city that disregards the intended controls of urban design and has no particular destination.
