gi and I spotted this fancy motel (though they call it Jupiter Hotel) in Portland. we snuck in to take a look. It looks like an old roadside motel from the 70s that has been hipsterized into this slick loungy place with a restaurant and a performance place and still functions as a motel. I like the creative approach. Much better than just razing the place and building a new one. Across the street there was a similar motel but run down like it hasn't been fixed up since the 70s.

that leg is sticking out from behind a fireplace. and that's a mannequin with the umbrella.

and then there was this building with actual paintings mounted on the exterior wall. nice touch, i thought. the cool thing is that it looks like they act as some sort of window shades. if you click on the image and enlarge it, you'll see that they are on sliders and can be slid over the windows.

Here are gi and i in Queen Bee's hive with our new Queen Bee bags.

And these are Beck's birds at work in James and the Giant Peach. They were awesome. I smuggled a couple of pictures.

The peach is at sea being attcked by the sharks. James attaches spider web rope to the birds and they carry the peach to safety.
