gi modeling a Turkish T and brown pants next to an old tugboat named Sally J that sits in front of the Lopez museum across from our cabin. The museum houses a borrowed collection of artifacts from the Burke showcasing Native life on Lopez (art, tools, toys, etc) and also has some of these big items just sitting outside. there are no "do not touch" signs or even signs that tell you anything about the items. a boat, a tractor, a large mechanical contraption-- just sitting in the grass outside of the little wooden museum shack as if left there by the last person who used them. There is also a large rusty welded Salmon sculpture that has a small laminated tag attached to it with the name and phone number of the artist written in pen. The salmon is stuck in the grass among the other large stuff.

on a walk down a wetland boardwalk just as we were deconstructing the interpretive sign, this gato ran out meowing. It is one of the cats in a series of many that have been attacking us on our recent walks. It was completely crazed for some love. I think it's a sign...
