Long live the prankster!...and the Twinkie.

This morning when I got up, Gi met me with a chuckle and told me that the UW Com dept. just opened up a 50 year old time capsule and found that sometime in the 70s someone had sneaked into it and added (among other things) a playboy centerfold, women's undies (clean i hope) and Twinkies. We've only speculated what happens to Twinkies in 30+ years, now we get to find out.

Imagine the laughs people got when the capsule was ceremoniously opened up by the department chair, among the alumni sponsors. Here is the the Daily article about it. Nothing like a prank to get a conversation going about the meaningfulness of archived artifacts. Archives and their meaning is a diss chapter that i'm working on right now, so maybe this incident is more amusing to me than to a normal person.
