Someone at work told me about the salary calculator. It looks like making $53,000 in Hayward, CA is equivalent to making $20,000 in Olympia. Meaning you can buy the same stuff (land not candy) in Oly for $20,000 that you could buy in Hayward for $53,000. No wonder TESC prof. salaries are so low. I think the last job that Gi applied for offered something like $35,000/yr which is the same as $93,000 in Hayward. But who wants to be a capitalist pig landowner anyway, right?
