i also found out that there is a whole community of people dedicated to this one particular problem of R11 burning out on Maytag Neptune washing machines! Astonishing. They are so passionate about fixing things that they will provide all the information for free, walk you through troubleshooting and even help to fix the problem for peanuts ($30 to send my circuit board to this guy Roy vs. $400 the repair company wanted to charge me for a visit)!
