Scoff if you must, but this is huge—Pitt and Jolie are two of the biggest movie stars in the universe, and their willingness to attach themselves in all of their hyperprivileged, heterosexual glory to gay marriage is celebrity deployed for as good a purpose as any, and we love them for it.
