today gi told me that she explained to her class the categorical imperative according to Kant and Lingus. hmmm...
also today, i walked out of the Communication building and bumped into david s. on my way to the bus stop. it was already dark and drizzling a little and as we were talking, out of the corner of my eye, i saw something run out of the bushes. when i turned to look, i saw a red fox!! really. a fluffy large red fox. it just strutted across the path towards the building as if it was going to see nancy d. or something. completely at home on the UW campus. AMAZING. what a vision. it looked pretty much like this
david thought that it was hunting squirrels, i looked it up and this is what they eat: small mammals such as mice, hares, lemmings, etcetera (squirrels are probably included). They also eat small insects and plant matter.
since this was the day of my oral exams that did not materialize because of a sick committee member, i looked up the symbolism of the red fox in google and found this on some new age website:
Symbolism and Inspiration of the Red Fox
Since the beginning of time it is believed the healing and inspirational power of wild animals can be a source of guidance in our daily lives. According to ancient beliefs, the fox is clever, quick witted, observant and adaptable, keenly aware of its surroundings, and always knows the time and place for action. Its swiftness of thought and action and decisiveness allows it to be a great protector of the family unit. The fox shows us how to be adaptable - to flow seamlessly through situations and around obstacles like the clear running currents of a stream.
