hurray!! i did it. gi and i turned our exams in at 3:55 on monday, five minutes before the due time. pretty exhausted but glad to be done. went on a walk in the arboretum right after and saw really cool Chinese black burch bark cherry trees. my i wonder how trees must influence people's aesthetic sense.

later we watched She Hate Me. Interesting movie. I thought that it was half very good and half very bad. Not sure what Spike Lee was trying to do. Did he try to do something too complicated and fail with the whole lesbian thing? Did he try to appeal to the male gaze and then to subvert it but failed? Is he clueless, misguided or misunderstood about the whole lesbian issue? Gi said that I over interpreted it and that he is just clueless. i guess it was hard to get out of exam mode.

oh and on sunday night, before our last exam day, we were woken up at 2am by a gun battle outside of our house. home sweet home.
